To donate

The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation has established the Flood 2008 Fund for donations to local non-profit organizations providing flood relief. Mail checks to the foundation at P.O. Box 9, Marion, IA 52302, or donate online at www.gcrcf.org

The Coralville/Iowa City Area Flood Relief Fund has been established within the Community Foundation of Johnson County. Mail checks, marked for Flood Relief Fund to the foundation at 325 E. Washington St., Iowa City, IA 52240. Information: Mike Stoffregen, (319) 337-0483.

The University of Iowa Foundation has created a flood relief fund as well. Donations may be made online at uiowafoundation.org or www.givetoiowa.org/floodfund, or mail checks to the UI Foundation, P.O. Box 4550, Iowa City, IA 52244-4550.

To volunteer

In Linn County, people can call (319) 378-0337 for Serve the City ecumenical church group, the clearinghouse for volunteers. You can also call that number if you need volunteers. Some 3,000 people have registered and offered to help.

Theatre Cedar Rapids is coordinating its volunteer and donation efforts through Facebook. Volunteers can join the “Help Theatre Cedar Rapids With Flood Recovery” group.
